It Wasn't Too Late
Naomi took a flower from our LIFEHOUSE team outside the clinic in Fresno, then walked inside anyway. When she came back out, someone was still there. Next door at LIFEHOUSE, she told the truth she had been carrying. She had already taken the abortion pill, and she was still pregnant.
Most people can name a moment they believed was already decided. A door that seemed closed. A choice that seemed final. What happens next often depends on whether anyone is standing nearby when the doubt creeps in.

On an ordinary afternoon outside the Planned Parenthood facility in Fresno, a young woman stood on the sidewalk, hesitating. A member of the LIFEHOUSE outreach team noticed her and offered her a flower.

That could have been the end. It wasn’t.

Months later, Naomi came back. The woman who had stood frozen on that sidewalk was gone. In her place was a mother-to-be, smiling, expecting a baby girl, and openly excited about meeting her.
The months in between were not spent alone. Naomi visited the Pregnancy Care Center, where her pregnancy was confirmed. She connected with Catholic Charities and other local organizations, building a real network of support for herself and her daughter. LIFEHOUSE passed along maternity clothes and connected her with job opportunities so she could prepare for the life ahead of them.
None of it happened with fanfare. A flower. A conversation. A building next door with the lights on. That was the difference between a story that ended that afternoon and a little girl who is on her way.
